Description

This dataset contains occurrence records for specimens of the monocotyledonous families, excluding Orchidaceae and Thyphaceae, housed at South Pacific Regional Herbarium (SUVA), at The University of the South Pacific in Suva, Fiji. The occurrence records include native and exotic Fijian flora.

A large component of records was used as voucher specimens published in Flora Vitiensis Nova (1979), vol. 1: 122 -494. The more recent specimens include the collections by external researchers (as duplicate exchanges) and by the Department of Agriculture, the University of the South Pacific and SUVA herbarium employees from the 1910s to the 1990s.

Records do not have GPS coordinates, however, locality descriptions are provided.

Data mobilisation is supported by the BID Pacific project "Mobilizing biodiversity data from natural history collections in Fiji" (BID-PA-2020-006-NAC).

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 4,042 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.
