Description
Host specificity of sap-sucking insects in Papua New Guinean tropical rainforest. This project focused on Auchenorrhyncha nymphs (Hemiptera), which were hand-collected from 14 focal tree species and reared to adults in cages. Collections were made twice a week in the surroundings of Ohu village, Madang Province. Sampling effort corresponded to approximately 1500 m2 of foliage inspected per plant species and included numerous individual trees within approximately 500 ha of primary and secondary forest. The dataset relates to the reared nymph data in Dem et al (2013) J Trop Ecol.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,857 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.
